History of Performer / Band |
My name is Thom Yeoman, "The Alt-Country Kid". I live in Reno, Nevada. I'm a singer songwritter, alt-country style, my brother calls it back porch music. I play a Washburn acoustic/ electric, harmonica, sing, and play a tambourine with my foot. I had a 6 month contract with Harrah's Reno That just expired in december, so now I'm booking shows In Reno and Sparks Till The weather gets better when I'll book shows in Virginia City and Nevada City for the summer.
In 1995 I went to see a band called the Lazy Eights at A place called the Blue Lamp. I was floored and blown away. If You have never heard of them I think the web site is www.thelazyeights.com. Ben Wilborn was the singer/ songwriter in the band, he plays mandolin, fiddle, guitar, sings and tears it up man, I've never seen somebody play that good and make the crowd freak out about it like he can do. I instantly became their roadie, and we stayed a team for about 5 years touring northern nevada, california and oregon. I learned that if you have the talent, anyone can play good shows, tour, or be on the radio. You don't have to be taken over by a record company to do this music thing. The Lazy Eights showed me that anyone with talent can play good shows, and be successful. I soaked it up like collage. Now, here I am. A product of the bands I love, Trying to write good songs and play shows you wanna see, and I wanna play. |
