History of Performer / Band Once upon a time, there were girls in Reno, NV who wanted to play music. I know, it's far fetched, but true. These girls decided on a name before they even had any music or even knew who was in the band. Actually ... they still don't who's in the band.

They eventually decide on who will be playing what, and everyone has their instruments and yay! they're a band. But wait a minute... their drummer still doesn't know how to play well enough to do shows. The bass player isn't sure if she's going to have time to do a band, and the second guitarist falls off the face of the earth.

So Lily (keyboards, even though she has never actually played keyboards at a single band practice or performance) and Amanda (lead guitar) practice a few songs together on guitar and go and play at a local coffee shop's open mic night.

People came, they cheered, they have yet to throw rotten fruit, and everything is happy in the world of Suffocating Hope.

For now, they write sad songs about boys, friends, the scene, and ice cream men who refuse to stop for them, and cover songs by silly emo, pop-punk, and indie bands.
