Somewhere between the realms of rock and pop is the yin-yang acoustic soundscape of local honey. Sometimes dark (not brooding), sometimes sweet (not corny), songs stripped of gizmos and gadgetry, instead utilizing organic hooks, melodies, dynamics, and musicianship - as if Ani DiFranco kicked Dave Matthews out of his own band. The results are songs and performances to dance, scream, drink, and sway to.
Happily serving the public as a trio since 2001, local honey has been honored to share bills with some of the best on the Sacramento and Northern California music scene, including Anton Barbeau, David Houston, Xenophilia, Red Star Memorial, and Ramona the Pest. Look for the debut EP, slated for a Summer 2003 release. |
