Press Reviews / Credits

There's something unique about Josh Pinkston and his folk rock project Jefferson Street. In the modern age of music subjugated under the seemingly all-important ideal of consumerism, many a great songwriter has been forgotten or ignored simply to satisfy the bottom line. We here at Last Stand Records are strong believers in the ability of songwriting to capture moments of emotion in an accessible way that allows the listeners to take an active part in the music experience. We signed Jefferson Street because we believe in Pinkston's ability to write tender and affecting music that invites the listener into a world that can be shared with the artist. The music of Jefferson Street has a power equal to that of the early folk rock heroes, like Paul Simon and Bob Dylan, in that all three of these songwriters are able to affect their listeners in an honest and tangible way. The "When You're Mine" EP is actually just a teaser of the full length "On The West Coast And In Love" LP coming in June 2003, a sample of some excellent and sincere songwriting that continuously grows on the listener until the songs become integrated into their every day lives. We are honored to present this EP and are excited to see where the music goes from here." — Kevin Meng, Last Stand Records

"Josh writes thoughtful songs, with clever melodies and honest delivery that leaves the song in its raw beautiful form ... I'm glad I'm a part of it." — Masaki Lu, Producer / Engineer - One-Way Studio

"What I find so valuable about music is evident in Jefferson Street. (Their) music has the unique potential to create connections between the listener and the artist." — Ben Heywood, Summer Darling
