Kim and Kay have been doctoring their soba noodles since
childhood, when their mom taught them how to turn a 15-cent packet of
ramen noodles into a feast. doctorsoba has been on-and-off playing the
Reno coffeehouse circuit since 2000.
Kay: "I've been in a plethora of
bands since adolescence, with names like Apache Rye, Strider and Compost
(that was in Australia), and I love a name with no caps."
Kim: "What's in
a name? I''ve been in some bands in LA I forgot the names."
In Reno Kim
played in the bands Galaxies Collide and Bluestone, and both sisters have
sung on the annual "Spike D'Eggnogg" Christmas CD, a collaboration of many
of Reno's musicians spearheaded by Imirage Studios' Tom Gordon. |
