History of Performer / Band |
It's no wonder Everyday Jones has been satisfying crowds in clubs, bars and coffeehouses around the northwest for a year now. Despite the youth of their relationship as a duo, both members have been making music for years. Lead singer Alissa Jandt is a classically trained vocalist with a decade of conditioning under her belt, while guitarist Jason Green comes from a family of musicians and has been at his instrument since he was fifteen.
Everything about Everyday Jones is versatile from the way Jandt's vocals float off the surface of Green's guitar lines, to the way in which the accompaniment loops around itself making Green's one guitar sound like a room full of players. It takes attentive precision to create decent polyphony using a guitar and a few pedals. But Green has mastered this art, and accessorizes Everyday Jones' shows using no pre-recorded tracks. Everything Everyday Jones does onstage is completely live and in the moment.
Now with the release of their first CD "Fly Away", due out this spring, Everyday Jones enters the realm of serious artist, distinguishing themselves from the throngs of other coffee shop acoustic duos. Everyday Jones claims to have been influenced by bands from the Beatles to The Corrs, and from Sarah McLachlan to Elliott Smith. The diversity of their influences offers even more of an explanation of how Everyday Jones brings its fans some of the most creative and infectious melodies around. |
