History of Performer / Band Chris Ayer is a solo artist living just outside San Francisco. His music is a blend of a lot of things: folk, rock, bluegrass, soul, poetry, and simply being alive. Taking a moment to listen to his songs, you find that they are about looking to feel connected, getting desensitized, getting resensitized, confusion, taking the ride, looking for insight, hoping to the point of denial... the themes are simple, and expansive.

Chris started out singing along to Elvis when he was 8 in his hometown of McLean, Virginia, and also played piano starting when he was 8. Chris got his first guitar at age 18; he started writing songs that same day. He moved from the east out to California in 2000 and started playing shows locally soon after. Chris Released his EP, “Static”, in June 2003. These days you will find him playing his songs in coffee houses, bars, parties - even busking on the streets - he clearly loves nothing more than to play some songs for you. And people are listening. All over, it seems that folks are taking the time to find out more about Chris's music - sharing it with friends, making it a part of their lives. One fan described listening to Chris Ayer's music for the first time: "It feels like you've discovered something special."

Chris graduated with a degree in philosophy from Stanford in 2004, and has since set off to make songs. His second studio album will be out in the Fall."
