Musical Influences |
I’ve been mostly influenced by the
live performers I’ve seen, especially Joel
Ackerson, Seth
Horan, The Animators, Rodney Branigan and many local
performers in town. Other favorites of mine (in no particular
order) are Ani DiFranco, Tori Amos, Coldplay, Tracy Chapman,
The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkle, Sarah McLachlan, Billie
Holiday… oh and there’s so many more I know
I’m missing. |
History of Performer / Band |
Her music is strong and catchy. Her voice
makes people stop dead in their tracks. But what it really
comes down to is that when the show is done, you just
feel better. There’s a little more bounce in your
step and you’ve somehow soaked in some direction
in your life. And you got all of this from listening to
music? That’s right.
Amber Rubarth infuses folky pop music with motivational
excitement, then twists in a little bit of jazzy blues.
Where does it come from? Well, it just comes out. She
is exploring her style, and each new song brings about
a new sound to the mix.
“Her rise has been meteoric” according
to the Sparks Tribune. After just one year of playing
and writing, Amber has toured in San Francisco and New
York, and is currently working on recording her debut
studio album, which will be released in early 2004.
